Motorised Wheelchair Trainer — Privacy Policy

In short: the Motorised Wheelchair Trainer app works entirely on your own device. It does not collect your personal information, it does not send anything to us, and it does not need an account.

This policy covers the Motorised Wheelchair Trainer mobile app only. Our shop and website are covered by the ELFIGO Mobility privacy policy.

What the app keeps on your device

The app saves the following on the device itself, so your training carries on where you left off:

  • which lessons you have completed
  • your settings — language, country, whether you drive with the left or right hand, and the size of the on-screen joystick
  • your training record — how many times you have started each lesson, how long you have spent on it, and whether you have passed it

This information stays on your device. It is not uploaded to us and we cannot see it. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

What we collect

Nothing. This version of the app does not send any information to us or to anyone else. Specifically:

  • there is no account, and we never ask for your name, email address or telephone number
  • we do not collect your location — the country you choose in the app is a setting that decides which ELFIGO shop the app links to, and is not a location reading
  • the app never asks for access to your contacts, photos, camera or microphone, and cannot use them
  • we do not use advertising identifiers, and there is no advertising in the app
  • the app contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking software
  • we do not track you across other apps or websites

The “Data sharing” setting

You will find a Data sharing setting in the app, and you are asked about it once when you first open it. It is switched off unless you turn it on.

It records your preference for a future version of the app, which may send us anonymous information about how the lessons are used — how long each lesson was played, whether it was passed, and the language, country and driving hand you chose. That information would carry nothing identifying you or your device, and would be added to everyone else’s so that no individual could be picked out.

In this version, nothing is sent whichever way the setting is set. If we switch this on in a future version we will update this page first, and sharing will still be off unless you choose otherwise.

Links out of the app

Some buttons — such as “Choose a Wheelchair” — leave the app and open an ELFIGO website in your browser. Those websites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.

Children

The app is intended for adults learning to use a motorised wheelchair, and for the therapists and carers who support them. It is not directed at children.

Your rights

Because the app collects no personal data, there is nothing held about you for us to give you, to correct, or to delete. If you would like to ask about personal data ELFIGO Mobility holds about you through other dealings — a purchase or an enquiry, for example — please write to sales@elfigo.sg.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change what the app collects, we will update this page, and we will ask you inside the app before anything is collected. We will not rely on an answer you gave to a different question.

Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of Singapore, and by the Personal Data Protection Act 2012.

When to Choose a Lithium PMA

Lightweight lithium battery-powered PMAs are ideal when the device needs to be folded or carried frequently. Common use cases include:

  • Transporting the PMA by car
  • Bringing the PMA on a plane
  • Carrying the PMA over high obstacles such as a flight of steps

When to Choose an SLA PMA

If weight is not a key concern, sealed lead-acid (SLA) battery-powered PMAs may be the better option. Key advantages include:

  • Much lower fire risk compared with lithium PMAs
  • More stability due to heavier weight and a lower centre of gravity
  • Greater power and capability when handling obstacles such as low kerbs and MRT train-to-platform gaps
