ELFIGO: Making Mobility Simple & Accessible
Being recognised among the Top 10 Micro Mobility Companies from Southeast Asia (2026) is more than an industry milestone for ELFIGO. It reflects years of steady work focused on one clear purpose: helping seniors and families move through daily life with greater ease, dignity, and confidence.
A Growing Need Across Asia
Across Asia, ageing populations are reshaping how families think about mobility. Many seniors want to remain active—running errands, attending medical appointments, visiting friends—even as dense cities, stairs, long walking distances, and crowded public transport make movement more challenging.
In this environment, mobility aids are no longer considered luxury items. They are practical tools that help older adults maintain independence and control over their daily routines. As demand grows, families increasingly look beyond the product itself, placing equal importance on reliability, after-sales support, and long-term service.
A Story Rooted in Empathy
ELFIGO’s story began long before it became a company. As a student, founder Warren Chew often helped a close friend with a disability navigate stairs between classes. Years later, when his friend transitioned to using an electric wheelchair, both experienced the same frustrations: limited product options, long waiting times, slow repairs, and poor follow-up after purchase.
That shared experience revealed a gap in the market—not just for better devices, but for better care. It became the foundation for a business built on empathy, practicality, and long-term support rather than short-term sales.
From Falcon to ELFIGO
Established in 2007 under its former name Falcon, the company began with simple goals: keep essential mobility aids in stock, deliver quickly, and treat every customer with patience and respect. What started in Singapore gradually expanded to serve customers in Malaysia and Australia.
In the early years, the approach was deeply hands-on. Demo units were brought directly into homes so seniors could try them comfortably before deciding. Once a suitable model was chosen, delivery often happened within one or two days—an uncommon experience in a market where customers previously waited weeks.
Over time, the product range expanded to include electric wheelchairs, mobility scooters, walking aids, ramps, chargers, and batteries. The aim was clarity and convenience: everything a user needs, in one place, without unnecessary delays.
Building Trust Through After-Sales Support
A defining strength of ELFIGO lies in its approach to after-sales service. Instead of asking users to transport heavy devices to workshops, the company offers on-site warranty support. Repairs during the warranty period are typically completed within a working week, and when delays are unavoidable, loan units are provided.
This model removes a major burden for seniors and caregivers alike, reinforcing trust through action rather than promises.
As mobility devices became part of everyday life, another issue surfaced—breakdowns after hours. To address this, ELFIGO introduced 24/7 Emergency PMA Roadside Assistance, open even to users who purchased their devices elsewhere.
The service includes towing, night-time support, and assistance during public holidays. For many families, it has become a reliable safety net—a small annual fee in exchange for peace of mind.
Designed for Modern Living
Urban living has also influenced product innovation. Smaller homes and active lifestyles created demand for lighter, more portable mobility solutions. In response, ELFIGO introduced a carbon-frame electric wheelchair weighing just 10.8 kg (without battery). Its compact fold, ease of lifting, and space-saving design have made daily routines significantly more manageable for both users and caregivers.
In 2025, the company rebranded as ELFIGO, a name chosen to represent movement, freedom, and independence. The rebrand marked a clear step forward—signalling readiness for expansion while remaining grounded in the values that shaped the company from the start.
Looking Beyond Borders
ELFIGO’s long-term vision extends beyond Singapore. Rather than rapid scaling, the company plans to expand through a lean franchise model, allowing partners to operate with lower overheads while delivering consistent service standards.
This approach is designed to reach smaller towns and underserved communities, where access to dependable mobility support is often limited. Growth, in this sense, is intentional and steady—focused on planting stable roots rather than expanding too quickly.
By building many small, reliable points of service, ELFIGO aims to create resilience and continuity across regions. It is a path shaped by the belief that mobility—and the peace of mind that comes with it—should never be restricted by geography.
